FuSEP Summer Exchange Program in China 2026

The FuSEP (Future Scientist Exchange Program) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) offers international students an opportunity to participate in academic research and cultural exchange in China. The program allows students to work with experienced supervisors while gaining exposure to research environments and international collaboration.

June 22 – July 30, 2026

Eligibility Requirements

The FuSEP Summer Exchange Program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students from universities worldwide. Applicants must remain full-time students at their home institution during the period of the program at USTC.

Students are expected to have a strong academic record and demonstrate good academic performance. Since the program is conducted in English, applicants should also possess a good command of the English language.

The program encourages participation from students of all backgrounds and welcomes applications regardless of race, gender, nationality, or religion.

Benefits of the FuSEP Summer Exchange Program 2026

Participants selected for the program may receive the following benefits:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • Registration fee waiver
  • On-campus accommodation provided free of charge
  • Travel allowance and meal support for outstanding or selected participants
  • Certificate of participation upon successful completion of the program

In addition, outstanding international participants who later apply for degree programs at USTC may receive priority consideration for scholarships.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents during the application process:

  • Official academic transcripts
  • Updated resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
  • One recommendation letter
  • Copy of the passport information page
  • Provisional Acceptance Form (required only if the chosen supervisor is not listed on the official Projects & Supervisors page)

Application Process

Students must submit their application through the official online application portal of USTC.

During the application process, applicants can suggest up to two supervisors they would like to work with. Information about available supervisors can be found on the Projects & Supervisors page. If a suitable supervisor is not listed there, students may search for faculty members whose research interests match their own and request supervision accordingly.

Applicants will need to provide personal details such as their name, nationality, gender, and current place of residence. Academic information must also be included, such as the degree program, university name, and major field of study.

A personal statement describing the applicant’s academic background, research interests, and motivation for joining the program must also be submitted. Additionally, one recommendation letter is required.

Before submitting the form, applicants should carefully review all information and ensure that all required documents have been uploaded.
